The Congregational Care Team is in need of helpers — If you can prepare a dish, pick up prescriptions, groceries, or help in any way. Please contact Elder Edith Wildt or the church office.
June - July 2018 The congregational Care Team is looking for twelve (12) people to help out with Sunday pick-up and drop-off at the Oaks Assisted Living — one person for each month of the year. Also, some of our home-bound church members could use some regular visits — a visit per month for 30 minutes or less would be greatly appreciated. If you are willing to help in either of these great opportunities, please call Elder Edith Wildt at 863 558.2155
Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. Members of our congregation are invited to help find families that could use some help. These families will be submitted anonymously so they would not feel like they were being pitied. There are many families in our community that are working hard to support themselves and just trying to make ends meet. We all know of someone who is in that same situation. Wouldn’t it be nice to give a little “boost” to a family you know by taking the financial burden of a full Thanksgiving dinner off of their list of worries? We, as a church family, have been very generous to helping out those in need. If you know of a family that could benefit by receiving one of our baskets to start their holiday season, please call the church office (863-494-4434) and give the family’s name and contact number so they can be notified that we want to provide their family with a delicious, traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings, because we care! We will begin collecting food items to fill the baskets containing a complete dinner for each needy family. If you prefer, you may use the brown envelopes in the pews to make cash donations for turkeys and pies. Please mark the envelopes “baskets.” Below is a schedule of events for bringing in the items for the baskets
Ladies Circle Bible Study The Ladies Circle Bible Study will meet on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. in the Duplex (it normally meets on the second Tuesday of the month). The lessons for this year are on God’s Promise: I Am with You, which takes us on a journey through scripture to consider circumstances in which God articulated his promise of presence. We will see anew that God offered these words of profound comfort and commitment to individuals and communities from the time of the patriarchs to that of the prophets; from the judges to the kings; before, during, and after the exile; into the New Testament and beyond, to the end of the age. Books will be provided in the class. All are welcome!
